STANDARD NEWSPAPER SHOULD GIVE KENYANS FACTS

The Standard newspaper, part of the Standard Media Group, based along Mombasa Road seem to be losing grip in its recent reporting.Readers are most likely to lose the oldest newspaper in Kenya. In today’s paper dated, 21/06/2006, Standard carried a headline, ‘Betraying Kenya.’By this, the Standard asserts that, MPs have betrayed Kenyans by ascending to Law The Elections Act,2011;and (b) and the Political Parties Act,2011.MPs stayed late in Parliament debating the Bill and passed it according to the Standard. This is a contradiction to the real situation of the matter.MPs failed to enact the Bill which had been tabled by Chepalungu MP Isaac Ruto. The Standard journalists who reported the story should apologise for unprofessionalism.Kenyans need competent and professional reporting.
